JPEG: JPEG stands for joint photographic experts’ group and its the default output for most camera in our age. And the drawback of using it is that there is loss of quality due to image compression.
HEIF: High Efficiency Image Format is the newest file type created in 2015 made by apple for iPhone photos. The drawbacks are that it has limited compatibility.
TIFF: Its stands for tagged image file format mainly used for photography industry, but they are known to be easier to edit then JPEGs. The drawbacks are that they are much bigger than files then others and take longer to load and transfer.
RAW: Raw file is being offer in most cameras because of the fact that they hold all of the important information, with this having lots of adjustments like white balance, exposure and saturation that it easily to apply image editing software
DNG: Dng or Digital Negative being created by Adobe, Dng is an alternative to the manufacturer’s native Raw format. The drawbacks are that if your camera cannot create DNGs automatically it takes extra time to convert.
PNG: was designed in the 90s and is a better version of the GIF file format, PNGs are in very small format which gives plenty of room for editing and details for viewing.
GIF: much like a PNG file the GIF file is perfect for the internet’s use, but is knowing its small the quality of it is still great.
BMP: A lossless file that was invented by Microsoft and used on a lot of windows platforms, knowing that the BMP file is great for printing and high-quality files.
PSD: The PSD file is used by adobe photoshop the save and store data, that’s why its ideal for photoshop.
